 Preferences

 

This page is used for customizing the appearance and operation of your account settings and functions. The Preferences page includes:

 

Signature
The Signature text box on the Preferences page is for automatically inserting text into your outgoing messages. To create a Signature:

  1. Click Options and then Preferences to open the the Preferences page.

  2. Type your preferred text into the Signature text box.

  3. Click Finished.

  4. Your Signature text will be automatically inserted into your outgoing messages when you Compose them.

 

Theme
This is the format or scheme that WorldClient will use when sending pages to your browser - i.e. frames, no frames, JavaScript with frames, various color schemes, etc.

 

There may or may not be multiple themes available for use. If there are multiple themes available to you regarding frames or browser functionality (e.g. Java or JavaScript enabled), you should choose the highest level theme that your browser will support. You can always download the latest versions of Netscape's and Microsoft's browsers free of charge from their web sites.

 

Sort Order
Use this control on the Preferences page in Options to designate the default method by which you wish to sort your messages on the Message Listing. You can sort messages by: Subject, From (Sender), Date, or Size in either ascending or descending order.

Preferred Multipart Format
Sometimes an incoming message will be available in both plain text and HTML format (used for colors, fonts, bold text, etc.). When reading one of these messages, this is the format in which you want the message to be displayed.

 

This is only applicable to message which are available in both formats. Messages which are available in a single format will be displayed in the format appropriate to the message.

 

Name Format
This control on the Preferences page in Options is for specifying the format in which you wish the From: to be displayed in the Message Listing - the sender's Full Name, Email Address, or both.

 

List Refresh Time
On the Preferences page inOptions, use this control to specify how often WorldClient will refresh your Message Listing. You can also refresh the Listing by clicking Get Mail on the Navigation bar.

 

Empty Trash on Logout
On the Preferences page inOptions, click this checkbox if you want your Trash folder to be emptied after you log out.

 

Dictionary (Pro version only)
Use the Dictionary control on the Preferences page in Optionsto add words to the Spell Checker's dictionary. When spell checking messages, these words will be skipped. To add words to the dictionary:

  1. Type a word in the Dictionary box that you want to be skipped when spell checking messages.

  2. Press Enter.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each word.

  4. Words can be separated by commas or semicolons, or you can type one word per line.

  5. Click Finished.

Spell Check Before Send (Pro version only)
Choose Yes in this control on the Preferences page in Optionsto automatically check for spelling errors before sending messages. After clicking Send Now on the Compose page, messages will be Spell Checked before they are sent. If an error is found then the message will be opened in the Spell Check page for correction. If there is no error then the message will be immediately sent.

Spell Check Ignore All Caps (Pro version only)
Choose Yes in this control on the Preferences page in Optionsif you want the Spell Checker to ignore words containing all capital letters.

For example:

"WORLDCLIENT" would be skipped but "WorldClient" would be checked.

Spell Check Ignore Mixed Digits (Pro version only)
Choose Yes in this control on the Preferences page in Optionsif you want the Spell Checker to ignore words that contain a combination of both letters and numerals.

Compose Width
This is the width (in characters) of the text box in which you compose your messages, located on the Compose page.

 

Compose Height
This is the height (in characters) of the text box in which you compose your messages, located on the Compose page
